Ian von Miller, maker of future antiques, considers furniture from an artist’s perspective. Using domestic hardwoods as his primary medium, Ian crafts everything by hand. All projects, regardless of scope, are drafted with pencil and drafting tools on paper, curves are hand planed, finishes are laid with brush or rag. A fascination with the idea that objects, with or without purpose, can be imagined and then realized has driven his furniture design for 25 years.
